Musical Theater Camp

Calling all actors, artists, musicians, technicians, dancers, singers, and art makers who want to put on a show. Musical Theater Camp is here!

Musical Theater Camp is a 2-week pre-professional training program for young artists ready for the challenge of producing a professional musical theater show. After registration, students will audition and submit portfolios for track placement. Students will have the opportunity to work closely with professional artists focusing either on Musical Theater Performance, Instrumental Music Performance, or Technical Theater Production. This intensive will culminate with three performances of the show Guys and Dolls in the state of the art, Sitka Performing Arts Center.

Musical Theater Performance: Actors, dancers, singers
Instrumental Music Performance: All instrumentalists
Technical Theater Production: Visual artists and technicians who will produce sets, costumes, lights, and sound.

Ages

Students entering 10th grade through sophomore year in college.

Tuition

$995 dorm students, $745 day students

Audition Information

This is the first program at SFAC that requires an audition for the purpose of track placement. All students who register will be part of the team, but auditions will be used to determine track and roles. Audition materials and recommendation requirements are posted below and the web portal for auditions will be open from April 1-15. Students will be able to apply to any of three focuses and submit all appropriate materials through that portal. Audition materials will include a letter and a video for musicians and singer/actor/dancers. For technical applicants, there will be guidelines for uploading portfolio materials and photographs. Students will be notified of track placement before  the May 1st tuition due date. Roles will be assigned by first day of camp.
