Be sure to complete the following steps for complete enrollment:

  1. Register
  2. Have a teacher complete the Teacher Recommendation.
  3. Sign up for classes (Available March 1st)
  4. Fill out the Travel Form (travel form due June 1st for all dorm students; after June 1st there is an additional $25 processing fee).
  5. Read General Camp Info.
  6. Make Tuition Payment (Tuition due May 1st; after May 1st there is an additional $50 processing fee).
Update your account info if your information changes.

How To Audition for SFAC Musical Theater Camp

All Auditions will be processed through our artsapp audition portal. Here you will be able to download the support materials for your audition, and upload your audition materials. Here are the steps to follow:

1. Go to http://artsapp.com/sfac/
2. Click Register to the right
3. Once you have registered and logged in, go to My Dashboard
4. Click "Summer 2012 Programs"
5. Choose from the three Disciplines by clicking the green plus sign
6. Look at the details for the audition requirements for your program. (also listed below)
7. Prepare the materials for your audition.

Requirements Are:

Musical Theater Performance: 

1 page resume or list of relevant experiences
1 recommendation letter from a mentor
1 video including the following:
- Introduction Including your name, voice part, and any instrument you play.
- Selected song from the show:
*all songs begin with a bell-tone to give you your note.

Soprano: I'll Know

- sheet music - start at 6b. The first two measures have been written in- melody follows the piano. Please go up to the A in the final measure.

Alto: Adelaide's Lament 

  - sheet music - start at top of page with the pick up- which was written in. "and furthermore. . ."

Tenor: Sit Down Your Rocking The Boat - start at the a tempo marking. "and I said. . ." song through to the end.

Baritone: Luck Be a Lady - sing straight through from the beginning to the bottom of second page. Notice the tempo change on "pray".

- 30 seconds to 1 minute a cappella singing of your choosing that shows off some individual style and/or range. Suggested songs are "Amazing Grace," "The Star Spangled Banner," "America the Beautiful," or "Somewhere Over the Rainbow." These songs are only suggestions, and you can choose any other song you feel is appropriate. The vocal selection should not be longer than a minute.

1 minute monologue of your choice. You may use the samples linked below, or something of your own.

Short dance piece. 

Use the first section of the video to learn the choreography, then dance along to the second section for your audition.
Dance Audition

Instrumental Music Performance: 

1 page resume or list of relevant experiences
1 recommendation letter from a mentor
1 Video including the following:
- Brief introduction stating your name, and all instruments you play. 
-Excerpt of a prepared piece. Play something that features your skill as a musician.
 *Percussion will play a snare drum and mallet piece
-Scales - Bb two octaves, E and G one octave

Technical Theater Production: 

1 page resume or list of relevant experiences
1 recommendation letter from a mentor
3-8 photos or scans of work you have done. If you do not have photos from a show, please show samples of your artwork.

When you are ready to upload your materials: 
1. Login to ArtsApp
2. Go to My Dashboard
3. Click on My Applications
4. Click on the Pencil- You will see the list of requirements for your discipline.
5. Title the application with your name
6. Click Add Media to add letters, resumes, and videos.
7. Put your name in the media title ex. Title: Video-Andrew HamesWT
8. Once you have uploaded all of your materials (you can do this over many visits)
9. Purchase 30 credits
10. Submit your application

Once we have reviewed applications you will be notified by email whether you were accepted or not. If you receive an acceptance it will include your registration information.

The audition portal will be open from January 1st through February 15. Students will be notified of acceptance by the week of March 1st. If you have additional questions about auditions please contact WT McRae at witmac@gmail.com.
