Sitka Fine Arts Camp’s financial aid program is intended to help Alaskan students who are interested in furthering their artistic development and who would be unable to attend camp without financial assistance. Each year, about twenty percent of students at Sitka Fine Arts Camp receive some kind of financial aid.
Financial aid from Sitka Fine Arts Camp are awarded based on financial need. Awards cover the cost of tuition, room, and board at camp. Financial aid does not cover travel expenses. Alaskan residents receive priority consideration.
Community organizations around Alaska also frequently provide financial support to send local students to Sitka Fine Arts Camp. These regional scholarships are often based on both artistic merit and financial need, and may be applied to directly through the host organization. Students are encouraged to research grant and scholarship programs provided by their local governments, foundations, arts councils, banks, churches, and school groups, as well as artistic and educational organizations to help supplement the cost of their tuition.

Sitka Film Society Scholarship
The Sitka Film Society, a Sitka nonprofit organization, has seen how attending the Sitka Fine Arts Camp changes the lives of young people, but sometimes cost is a barrier for participation. We would like to remove that barrier by offering a full scholarship to an Alaskan high school student with a particular interest in filmmaking who is attending camp for the first time. The recipient will receive a full scholarship including room and board and must take two filmmaking related classes at camp (filmmaking and animation) and three other classes in any artistic discipline.
Criteria for Selecting Recipients:
Demonstrated interest in filmmaking and attending camp, as reflected in student statement.
Demonstrated need for scholarship, as reflected in parent/guardian statement.
Eligibility: Current high school student living in Alaska, attending Sitka Fine Arts Camp for the first time.
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. The board of the Sitka Film Society will select the scholarship recipient.
Applications and all supporting materials must be mailed to:
Sitka Fine Arts Camp

Suite 111
