DORM STUDENTS (in addition to the items listed above):
Please plan on packing for the two week session, if possible. Access to laundry is limited. SFAC provides a mattress pad, bottom sheet, pillow & pillow case on each twin bed.
SHOULD I BRING MONEY?
Students may want to bring a small amount of cash or a credit/debit card to use at the camp store or in town. Camp souvenirs and snacks are offered at the camp store and range in price from $1 for a bumper sticker or snack to $45 for a sweatshirt. Money can also be added to a student's account at the camp store through the registration portal.
DO NOT BRING THESE ITEMS!

- Gym shoes for the gym
- Clothes that are appropriate for the classes you are taking (especially for dance classes and physical theater – sweatpants and comfortable tops that can be layered, ballet students can wear tights, leotards, or shorts)
- All music students should bring a long-sleeved, white shirt, black skirt/pants, black socks, and black dress shoes
- Water Bottle
- Comfortable walking shoes
CLASS SPECIFIC PACKING LIST (Middle School Camp)
- Piano: Students should bring wired headphones (not bluetooth)
- Digital Photography: Students must bring a digital SLR camera with manual controls for aperture and shutter speed, batteries/or charger, memory cards, card reader or cord, and a USB flash drive with at least 16GB of memory. A limited number of cameras are available for rent on a first requested, first served basis. The rental fee is $50. Complete the camera rental request here. If the student does not have access to a camera or rental camera, please contact the SFAC office by May 1 to be switched to another class.
- Animation: Students should bring a USB flash drive with at least 16GB of free space.
- Acrobatics & Partnering: Come dressed to move
- Ballet: Come in ballet attire, soft ballet slippers, with hair pulled away from your face. Those with experience en pointe should bring pointe shoes.
- Hip Hop Dance, Street Dance, Body Conditioning: Come in clean gym shoes and clothes that you can move in.
- Modern Dance: Come in barefeet with a black leotard & black leggings or black tank and black pants
- Shakespeare, Mask Theater, Slapstick: Slips, Trips & Falls: Dress to move
- Live Event Production: Students should bring several sets of black clothes and close-toed shoes.
- Symphonic Band, Orchestra, Jazz Band, Jazz Combos, Choir & Small Ensembles: Students should bring performance attire of black pants or skirt, white shirt and black socks and shoes.
- Instrumental Music Classes: Students should bring their instrument and extra reeds, oil, strings, rosin, and a metronome. Trumpet and trombone players should also bring straight and cup mutes.
- Percussionists and drummers should bring a stick bag complete with the full set of sticks and drum set sticks.
- Rock Band: Guitar & bass players should bring their instruments and a cable. Amps are provided.

- Alarm Clock
- Sleeping bag and/or warm blanket (it can be quite chilly at night)
- Towel & Washcloth
- Soap toothbrush and other toiletries
- Flip Flops for showering
- Warm clothing—the average temperature during the day ranges from 50-60 degrees during the summer
- Clothing for warm weather—although Sitka is cool most of the time, we do see the occasional day in the 70s or (very rarely) 80s
- Warm clothes for sleeping
- Enough underwear and socks for the full session
- Warm Jacket
- Raincoat
- Waterproof shoes
- Sleep mask if you are a light sleeper
- Comfortable clothing/shoes for hiking on recreation day (must have hiking boots/sturdy athletic shoes for moderate/difficult hikes)
- Hat and gloves
- A camera or disposable camera
- Hands on activities for down time (examples: books, deck of card, board game or small analog game, puzzle book, friendship bracelet string, etc.)
- Letter writing materials, addresses, and stamps for writing home to family and friends
- Medication (if applicable)

- Cell phones, Apple watches, air pods, wearable technology, laptops, netbooks, chromebooks, iPads, tablets, hand-held gaming devices, etc. Any connected electronic devices brought to camp will be collected on opening day and returned at the end of the session.
- Expensive sunglasses, or other expensive items that are easy to lose
- Roller blades, skateboards, rip sticks, bikes, scooters, etc.
- Pocket or camping knives; any form of weapon
- Battery operated toys, toys that resemble any type of weapon, walkie-talkies
- Fireworks, sparklers, firecrackers, etc.
- Energy drinks
- The Fire Marshall prohibits the use of extension cords and electrical appliances in dorm rooms including electric tea kettles, coffee pots, hot plates, curling irons, hair straighteners, etc.
- Any item that disrupts camp activities, creates a nuisance, or is considered potentially harmful to other individuals will be placed in the custody of the Director of Student Life
- Remember that the camp provides basic over-the-counter first aid items for campers, so there is no need to pack things such as band-aids, cough drops, etc.
