Further Information on Travel:
Arrival Days: Sitka Fine Arts Camp staff meet students at the airport to shuttle them to campus. Alternatively, parents may drop students off at the Odess Theater for registration between 10:30am and 12:30pm.
Registration: When students arrive at camp, they will have an opportunity to notify their parents that they arrived safely and then will check in their cell phones and all other electronic devices for the duration of their session. SFAC staff will guide students through the registration process to pick up their name tag, receive their room assignment, turn in medication to the medical staff, and help them find their dorm to drop off luggage.
Departure Days: There are no classes on Departure Days. SFAC staff shuttle students to the airport two or more hours before their flight and assist students with check in. Staff remain with students until the security checkpoint. If you are traveling home with your student on a flight before 9 AM please meet them at the airport. Parents/guardians wishing to pick up their student(s) from camp should check-out their student at 9 AM at the Sweetland Hall Student Support Center. Photo ID is required. SFAC cannot accommodate pick-ups before 9 AM.
Getting to Sitka Fine Arts Camp: Sitka Fine Arts Camp offers complimentary shuttle service to and from the Sitka airport on all program arrival and departure dates, provided students have signed up for shuttle service on the travel form. Sitka Fine Arts Camp does not provide shuttle service for parents or other family members. If you are dropping your student off at camp, please plan to arrive during the scheduled registration window listed in your pre-camp email.
Unaccompanied Minor ("Junior Jetsetter") Requirements: Students age 12 and under are required by Alaska Airlines to fly as an unaccompanied minor through their Junior Jetsetter program unless they are flying with an accompanying adult. See Alaska Airlines website for details. Families are required to pay round-trip fees for the Junior Jetsetter program before camp begins. If your student is older than 12, please do not book their ticket using this service because capacity is limited on each flight. SFAC only offers pick up and drop off for students traveling with the Junior Jetsetters service at the Middle School Camp.
